Earning the Wolf Rank
A boy or girl who is 8 years old or is in the second grade is a Wolf, and his adventures are found in the Wolf Handbook. A 8 year old boy or girl in the second grade joins Cub Scouting with his parent or adult guardian. This is unique relative to other ranks in Cub Scouting. Wolves and their adult partners are just that, partners. They attend meetings together, go on adventures like field trips together, and complete requirements together.
Like all other new Cub Scouts, a Wolf must first earn his Bobcat rank. After completing the requirements for Bobcat he may go on to complete the requirements for the Wolf rank and the many electives that are offered for his rank.
Wolf Requirements to Advance
Complete each of the following Wolf required adventures with your den or family:
a. Bobcat
b. Paws on the Path
c. Running with the Pack
d. Council Fire
e. Safety in Numbers
f. Footsteps
Complete two Wolf elective adventures of your den or family’s choosing.
Wolf Uniform
Required: Shirt (Long or Short Sleeve), Neckerchief, Slide, Belt
Optional: Pants or Shorts, Socks, Hat
Each year: New Neckerchief, Same Slide for Wolf and Bear Dens.
Uniform Code: Your son or daughter should/will be encouraged to wear his uniform appropriately. The shirt should always be tucked in and orderly. The scout should understand the importance of representing the entire Boy Scout Organization while in uniform.
Patches you will need: Scout Emblem (above left pocket), Council Patch, Pack Numbers (260), Den Number
Patches that will be provided: Any Rank Advancement Badge or Patch that your son or daughter earns will be awarded (at no cost) during the Monthly Pack Meetings.
